More Than 100 New Cards Coming to Hearthstone

It's not going to be like Naxxramas.

Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft

Blizzard’s Hearthstone is a sensation. The online card game has made waves all over the world since its release earlier this year, and Blizzard themselves have been right on top of their game, providing just the right kind of support, straddling that fine line between profitability and not abusing their customers’ goodwill and trust.

Now, they have revealed that they will be introducing more than 100 new cards to the game. Yes, over 100, which is a massive update and expansion, and indeed, Eric Dodds, the game’s lead designer, has told MMORPG that the Hearthstone team is trying to figure out how to introduce such a large collection of cards to the game without too much disruption. Specifically, unlike the Naxxramas DLC pack, which added cards in increments over five weeks, Blizzard is going to pursue a different strategy this time.

“We don’t want to create this large number of cards and overwhelm players, but at the same time, with this new expansion, we want to provide a large number of cards with additional options for the hardcore.

“So, exactly what those cards are and exactly what those ratios are, partially we’re still working on them, and partially we’ll be talking about that in the future.”

We don’t actually yet know when these cards will be available, but when we find out, we’ll let you know.
