Mortal Kombat Kratos trailer is brutal yet satisfying

Warner’s released a full blown gameplay trailer for God of War Kratos, who’s part of the roster in the upcoming Mortal Kombat game.

He’ll be only available in the PS3 version of the game (pigs don’t fly yet, you know) and PS3 fans are in for a special treat by the looks of it.

The move set looks really good and you can see Kratos using  his trusty weapons to obliterate his opponents.

Enjoy the trailer. The game releases next month for PS3 and Xbox 360.

They took down the YouTube vid so its nice 2 c the real thing in quality video. I seriously think I am gonna have 2 go with the PS3 version just cuz of Kratos. & I normally prefer multiplatform games on the 360.

    • Do it! So worth it. GOW is my favorite game of all time. I’d take it over any, and I mean ANY other game ever made. The writers of that storyline should win an academy award. And hopefully when this is inevitably turned into a movie, they do get one.

i don’t think it should be made into a movie, it would look almost corny with all the CGI they have t use. but yea GOW series has to be top 5 serieses of all time i agree.

as much as i think he is a perfect mortal kombat character, he seems too powerful. and his moves are too powerful they look borderline unfair.
i foresee everyone on online picking him to play.

saying all that , he could probably be the most badass character in mortal kombat.

    • Naa, he’s probably just as balanced as everyone else, he just looks better whoopin ass. Besides, I don’t see them making those moves too easy to pull off, at least not all of em.

    • tareq salah

probably right, maybe the fact that he hits with his blades makes it seem more violent than it is. he has some sick moves, the blinding mask is cool and the arrows are great too.

  • Kratos = Badass Motherf***er
I think I might actually see what their next move is. See, they said that GOW the trilogy was done but they left an open ending (spoiler)
He didn’t die so They may actually wait to see the success of this game, and release something later where the konquest mode is played as Kratos OR release a god of war game that continues the story line in the Mortal Kombat mythology. The world is every bit as expansive as greek mythology. There’s plenty of characters (each with their own storyline), the world is violent and brutal, and Kratos fits right in. This actually makes a lot of sense and I can see this or something similar happening in the world of Kratos.

i respectfully disagree with you. the GOW story is done, and anything they do to it will actually messes up the epic ending, once you start playing around with this it goes down hill. kratos has nothing to do with mortal kombat world absolutely nothing. he was added probably by sony just to sell the game on ps3 more than 360. i would rather they do prequels and side stories in the greek mythology but please don’t bring him to mortal kombat.

He should b the most powerful character…he’s Kratos! Lol I am sure they will make sure its balanced or at least there is a character that counters him easily. I am sure we haven’t seen the end of the GoW games either.

    • tareq salah

i’m actually against having one character being able to counter another easily, its counter productive, every character should be balance with numerous attacks and moves. this way you dont play against someone and they pick a character just to counter you. but rather have a fun fight.

  • woodysroundup

That looks amazing…I will say Kratos will end up being a cheap one, to my eye anyway. But I’m going to love playing as him.
Nothing confirmed, but Ed Boon said there’s something for 360 owners. I think a character from GOW would be awesome.

    • tareq salah

yeah i said he would be cheap. as for 360 owners i dont think there is another character. they would have said it already to push the sales. maybe extra level design or customs or fatalities.

Sum1 did buy the rights 2 the God of War movie a few yrs back. But like a ton of other game movies including Bioshock, Dante’s Inferno, Crazy Taxi (!?!), etc. the talk has died down & it prolly is not gonna happen. There is a new Resident Evil movie coming in 2012 tho.

    • tareq salah

i have yet to see a videogame made into a good movie, resident evil as movies is awful. and i dont think any of these games should be made into movies.

  • doub7

I have enjoyed a few of the game movies. I actually like the Resi movies, saw the last in IMAX 3D & it was prolly the best 3D I’ve seen. Silent Hill was solid as well, they r workin on a 3D sequel right now with all the cast returnin. Doom was the biggest disappointment 4 me & they r considerin a sequel 4 it also.

    • I gotta disagree, Resident Evil Afterlife was the worst one they’ve made to date. It was like they didn’t even care about the storyline. As far as silent hill goes, lets just say that a movie like that should have been rated R. They keep ruining potentially good movies by toning it down to get the PG13 rating so they can appeal to a broader audience. Suckerpunch is like that, it would’ve done well and maybe even had a fanbase if they had made it rated R but instead they tone it down. The people making these movies are way too short sighted, they don’t see the potential in the storyline they just act like these movies are just another basic product off the assembly line without thinking.

all we wanted is to make resident evil exactly like the games. just dont invent any stupid plots and new characters. and it would have been ok.
