Namco Bandai today announced that Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive is now available at retailers nationwide for the PSP. Based on the popular animated Naruto Shippuden series, the game features the most authentic team-based combat in the franchise. With robust content including an original story, a roster of fan favorite characters, and a new multiplayer combat system, Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive delivers an intense experience that will leave players wanting more.

Following an all-new story, Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive pits Naruto and friends against an unseen foe responsible for the disappearance of ninja from Hidden Leaf Village. New game-exclusive characters will descend onto the scene and unexpected plot twists are revealed as players discover who seeks vengeance upon Naruto.

In Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive, two modes of play will be available to challenge everyone’s ninja prowess. In Story Mode, journey with a band of NPCs (non-playable characters) through more than a dozen missions that wait to be conquered. In Free Mission Mode, build a ninja dream team to overcome evolving combat situations where up to four friends can fight together and perform special combo moves via ad hoc local wireless network. Featuring a new and devastating Kizuna Drive Combat System, players can volley enemies between teammates while inflicting crippling damage one after another. Time attacks precisely to apply even more intense blows, but miss the mark and the damage will be reciprocated.

Staying faithful to the franchise, Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive embraces the ninja universe while adding new dimensions to it. Not only will players participate in spectacular boss battles, they’ll also be treated to an exclusive opening movie created by Studio Pierrot and music sung by Japanese Naruto voice actress, Junko Takeuchi. As if four-player co-op weren’t enough, the game features bonus content where fans can access tons of side quests to keep the action rolling. Furthermore by collecting scrolls and special items, players can power up their characters or give them special abilities.

Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB and carries a MSRP of $39.95.

Multiplayer combat & a story mode? Guess this is a bit of a departure from the 1 v 1 fighting games on the PS3. Those games looked amazing, liked they ripped the characters outta the anime. The only Naruto game I have played was the 1st 1 on the 360 & it was a decent game.

I played the Japanese version of this and it was fun, but the new PSP game coming out seems 100 times better!

the 1 vs 1 naruto game with cut scenes was good. its hard to make an anime game out of a tv show but they pulled it off.
im interested to see how they will make the story mode and what are we going to do with it.

Seems like they r pullin out all the stops 4 this 1, the hardcore fans should b happy. Exclusive movies & characters, 4 player coop, sidequests. Sounds like 1 of the biggest efforts the PSP has had in a long time.

I always meant 2 try out the PS3 games since the graphics were so pretty. I think I liked the style of the 360 game better cuz u could run around & explore. They should have done a follow up 2 that game, w/ a few tweaks & improvements it could b sumthin special.
