It appears as though Square Enix is not going to ease up on the pedal as far as Dragon Quest is concerned; according to the latest issue of Jump Magazine in Japan (thanks Siliconera, for the translation), it seems as though a new Dragon Quest related announcement is due for next week.

As for what this announcement could be is anybody’s guess- it could be an announcement pertaining to any one of the many Dragon Quest spin offs Square Enix has in the works, including Dragon Quest Monsters and Dragon Quest Heroes; it could be the announcement of something new entirely. Apparently, The wording in Jump states that the reveal will make readers go “Nuwaaaa!” Which just happens to be a reference to Dragon Quest V.

It might just be Dragon Quest XI as well- the last mainline single player entry in the franchise came out in 2009, which was six years ago now. It’s high time we got a new one.

Whatever it is, we will keep you posted. Stay tuned.
