Capcom has released some new screenshots for Monster Hunter 4, which will be releasing this Summer for the Nintendo 3DS. Unlike its predecessor, the fourth game will feature a couple of different elements this time around, some which can be seen in the screens below.

Players will now be able grab onto monsters and smack them this way and that. You can also attack while hopping in mid-air – another series first There will also be a heavier emphasis on platforming, as players will be able to scale walls more easily.

Environments can also be used to one’s advantage, something which the monsters are not above doing to gain an advantage.

There won’t be any underwater battles this time around, but there will be much larger environments and the largest collection of NPCs the series has seen yet. This is on top of the returning characters and monsters, along with the heaps of new levels and content.
