Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest weapons will make an appearance.

Nier: Automata is going to be including a couple of weapons that are apparently going to be an homage to both Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. While this little piece of information was not officially announced by Square Enix, it was revealed thanks to a brand new trailer showing off some gameplay.

Along with that gameplay is a couple of weapons that fans of the previous two series will likely be able to recognize with very little effort. In particular, Final Fantasy 15’s Engine Blade is going to make an appearance in the game and there will also be Dragon Quest’s Cypress Stick.

Both of those weapons appear as though they are well suited to beat out enemies in Nier: Automata. The video also shows that treasure chests you find with the Cypress Stick. Check out the video below and see the homages in the upcoming game.
