Nintendo has no immediate plans for 3DS Lite

Posted By | On 31st, Jan. 2011

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has announced that the company has no immediate intention of releasing a revised or more compact version of its upcoming handheld. The exec stated that “the first thing (Nobuo) Nagai-san, who’s in charge at the Uji plant, said to me when he looked over the designs for Nintendo 3DS before mass production began was ‘This time it’s fully packed right from the start.'”

“When making Nintendo 3DS, we used all our tricks for Nintendo DS Lite – and more – for cutting down on size right from the start.”

So there you have it, no need to hold out until the 3DS XL comes out now. Make sure you check back for more news on the 3DS as it hits the cutting room floor.
