Nintendo Switch Sold Out At Best Buy Again After Preorders Reopened

Nintendo’s upcoming console is in demand.

The Nintendo Switch has been seeing its fair share of demand. After US retailer Best Buy had restocked the console and re-opened pre-orders for the same, supplies were once again sold out.

A representative from the retailer informed GameSpot that the Switch was available for pre-ordering. However, within a short period of time, stock for the gray, neon red and neon blue versions of the console were already gone. It’s a similar story for GameStop and Amazon as well and Best Buy hasn’t revealed when more units will become available again.

The popularity of the Switch isn’t strange despite the weak line-up (which Nintendo president Tatsumi Kirishima addressed in an earnings call). It will be interesting to see the long-term success of the platform especially since it’s out on March 3rd.

What are your thoughts on the Switch and its games? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information on when it’s available to pre-order again.

  • The truth-ier

it was available for a long time, over a hour before it sold out. This is the slowest sell out of a new console ever. Launches mean nothing, thats when the core fan of the system is going to buy it, the wii u sold out at launch also..

The Wii U never sold out at launch- the Basic Bundle was available to purchase all through the leadup to the launch.

Nintendo are Fraudsters. It’s funny, you keep hearing “Switch Sold Out” Then a few days later “Switch In Stock”
    I call B.S.
Seems like Nintendo is pulling the ole Bait and Switch. They DID NOT Sell 2 million. They PROMISED 2 million TOTAL at launch.
    I believe they are:
*Deliberately selling small batches to intentionally Sell out
    * Relist in even more small batches to say back in stock
    *Again Claim sold out.
    * Doing this to build hype before launch to make everyone THINK that EVERYONE is buying it.

Bottom line they promised 2 million at launch TOTAL, this tells me they HAVE NOT sold the entire 2 million stock to begin with and pulling the wool over our eyes to generate Hype.

Wii – Fool me once Nintendo Shame on you
WII U – Fool me again shame on me
Switch – YOU WILL NOT FOOL ME AGAIN!!!!
