Nintendo: We Will Provide an Update On Nintendo NX Later This Year

But not too late in the course of the year.

It’s 2016, and we’re still waiting for Nintendo to announce and reveal the Nintendo NX, their enigmatic new system that, in spite of everybody’s best guesses, still remains a total enigma. It is popularly considered to be getting a reveal some time in March this year, followed by a full blowout at E3, and a release by the holidays- but Nintendo is still not ready to commit to any timeframe.

Nintendo’s president Tatsumi Kimishima confirmed that the company still has plans to reveal the NX later this year- though his wording gave it a very nebulous timeframe in the wake of the company’s earnings report, according to The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Kimishima said Tuesday that the company will provide an update “not too late in the course of this year.”

Which honestly makes it sound like the NX may not be revealed until E3- at the very least, not until this financial year is ended, which happens on March 31. I don’t know why, but I don’t have a very good feeling about an E3 reveal.
