The world could always use more...you get the drift.

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch continues to be a massive success about 8 months after release. After seeing records for the fastest selling PC game in history, the developer reports more than 25 million registered players for its shooter.

This is up from November when Blizzard reported 20 million registered players, thus making Overwatch the fastest game to hit that figure in the company’s history.

It should be noted that this doesn’t indicate copies sold or concurrent players online. Overwatch has had several free trials allowing players across all platforms to experience for a limited time.

Currently, the team-based hero shooter is has a new event on-going with the Year of the Rooster, a celebration of the Lunar New Year. This means new skins, emotes, sprays and a new brawl called Capture the Rooster (essentially Capture the Flag) on Lijiang Tower.
