Overwatch Introduces Server Browser on PTR

Now locate custom games

Posted By | On 08th, Feb. 2017

Blizzard’s Overwatch just got a whole lot more expansive with the introduction of a Server Browser on the Public Test Realm.

What does that mean? You can now essentially craft your own custom maps with different settings (like increasing projectile speed or removing ability cooldowns) across different modes. But now, it’s possible to either make it available for Friends or for Public play. It also seems like EXP can be earned from taking part in custom matches so the choice is yours.

Currently, the Server Browser is in the testing phase (only PC players who own the game can try it) but this is a hugely powerful tool that offers a lot more options for casual play than before. Players are already throwing together ideas for an Infection-style game mode, for instance.

What are your thoughts on Overwatch getting a Server Browser with the ability to host your own maps? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.
