Overwatch Keyboard and Mouse on Console Issue Addressed by Phil Spencer

Xbox boss supports giving tools to studios.

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch is facing issues with some console players, especially high-ranked competitive players, using converters like XIM to enable keyboard and mouse support.

Director Jeff Kaplan addressed the issue and said that the team is campaigning for Sony and Microsoft to either remove keyboard and mouse support on the PS4 and Xbox One respectively or to allow easy access for all players.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has since responded to the same on Twitter and said that, “Clearly in some cases M&K [Mouse and Keyboard] is an advantage. I’m a fan of giving the tools to studios and they’ll do what’s best for their games.”

It will be interesting to see the direction going forward since XIM is out of reach for your average consumer and gives an edge to those who can afford it. How will this affect Overwatch competitive play on consoles? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
