Overwatch Servers Currently Experiencing Issues

Issues that began last week have seemingly re-emerged.

Overwatch

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch was experiencing server issues last week (likely tied to Lizard Squad’s DDOS attacks) and those issues seemed to have returned.

According to Blizzard on Twitter, “We’re currently investigating an issue affecting our authentication servers, which may result in failed or slow login attempts.”

The biggest issue is that this results in constant disconnects for players and with Blizzard looking to penalize constant quitters in the future – with disconnects counting as you leaving a match before it’s done – there’s some concern that incidents like this will cause players to be wrongfully punished for no fault of their own.

We’ll how this ultimately pans out for Blizzard and when Overwatch servers begin to normalize again. If you’ve been having a tough time finding matches, then rest assured that the population hasn’t suddenly dipped. What are your thoughts on the current issues with servers? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more information.
