Sony will be looking to increase subscription costs for its PlayStation Plus service in the United States and Canada starting on September 22nd.

In an update on the PlayStation Blog concerning August’s free games, the company noted that three and 12 month subscriptions will increase in price. Yearly members will cost $50 to $60 in the United States and $50 to $70 CAD in Canada. Three month subscriptions will increase from $18 to $25 while it goes from $18 to $30 CAD in Canada.

Those paying on a monthly basis in the US are safe but Canada will still be paying $12 instead of $10 CAD. It should be noted that if you renew your subscription before September 22nd, then the current prices will still apply. Anyone interested in cancelling is also advised to do so before September 22nd.
