Pokemon GO was a veritable phenomenon when it launched on mobile earlier this year, but for loyal Pokemon fans who have stuck with the series ever since its inception, there was one thing that probably rankled a bit- the game only had the original 151 Pokemon available. There are over 700 beasts available in the series’ lore at the moment, and the developers had, for some reason, simply chosen to confine themselves to the original batch.

That said, it was a given that that wold eventually change- and it looks like that assumption is going to end up being right. In the newest update for Pokemon GO on Android (0.45.0), The Silph Road has found data that suggests that Pokemon from #152 – Chikorita – to #251 – Celebi – may be making their way to the hit mobile game in the near future.

Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android smartphones. Even though the craze around it has died down a little, it is still the most popular smartphone game in history.
