Pre-owned copies of SOCOM 4 will be crippled

Posted By | On 18th, Apr. 2011

Those who are planning to save some cash by purchasing a pre-owned copy of upcoming shooter, SOCOM 4, ought to rethink their plans.

Zipper Interactive have confirmed that some features will be locked to those who don’t have SOCOM pro. A one-time code for pro features is included on the back of the manual.

The features included for SOCOM pro only include: Pro Custom Game queues – ranked playlists that will be updated “over the entire lifespan of SOCOM 4,” two exclusive weapons – the M-16 (for Spec-Ops) and the AK-47 (for the Insurgents) assault rifles, along with “exclusive multiplayer maps, various co-op additions, dedicated [Pro] leaderboards, and more.”

If you don’t get a usable code on the back of the manual, you can always purchase a code for the extortionate price of $14.99. Good to know they’re always thinking of our wallets.
