Project CARS Will Get Free Cars Via DLC Every Month

If it ever releases, that is.

Slightly Mad Studios have given us another update on their perennially delayed racing game, Project CARS. Taking a leaf out of Microsoft and Forza Horizon 2’s book, they will be providing the game with a free car every month after its release in the form of DLC.

According to Slightly Mad Studios, this free content every month is in fact the compensation that it promised for the multiple delays the game has suffered (three so far; it seems to get delayed about a month before its announced release date each time, so don’t be too shocked if it’s suddenly delayed into June in April). The first of these cars will be the Lykan Hypersport, of Furious 7 fame.

What is unclear is if this offer extends to the Wii U version of the game as well- originally, the game had just been announced for PC and Wii U; later on, it was also announced for PS4 and Xbox One, and all versions were due to launch together, until the Wii U version was pushed back, and was slated to launch after the other versions had launched.

Even though we have not heard about the Wii U version in a while, at last count, it was still under active development. Given the delays it suffered, you would think it would get free content too, but we don’t know. Judging the contempt with which developers and publishers seem to treat Wii U versions of their games, don’t be surprised if it’s sent out to die without marketing or support, or just canceled altogether.

Or maybe I’m just being unnecessarily paranoid here.
