Following up on the leaks of new features for the PS4’s firmware update 3.0, Sony has announced that a best test program for updates prior to their release. The program is billed to start on September 2nd.

The beta program is a lot like Xbox’s Preview Program wherein participants will get a look at new features in upcoming firmware updates and be allowed to test them. If that sounds like something you’d want to try, then head here. Keep in mind that you need an Internet connection and PS4 (of course) along with accessing the update via your master account.

If there’s any concern about the updates being tested, then beta testers can always roll back to the current firmware 2.57.
