With the Game Developers Conference coming up shortly, rumours have been flying about the mill in large numbers. One of these rumours claims that Sony will be unveiling am Oculus Rift-like virtual reality headset device for the PS4 during its press conference.

SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, SCEA R&D senior director Richard Marks (best known for coming up with the EyeToy and the PS Move) and SCEA R&D senior software engineer Anton Mikhailov will all be present when Sony presents its conference “Driving the Future of Innovation at Sony Computer Entertainment.”

According to CVG, Sony has been working on this virtual reality headset for a while now, and was about to reveal the new piece of hardware back in August of 2013, but delayed the reveal until its September’s TGS conference. It was then later delayed again to allow Sony to work on the new tech some more.

Thanks, CVG
