15 Ways to Enhance Your Experience on PS4 and Xbox One

Nintendo Switch’s conference wasn’t the only bit of big news we got yesterday- we also got the preliminary NPD report that confirmed that the PS4 had indeed managed to come in first in the United States for the second month straight, meaning Sony managed to score an overall victory in the Holiday Season.

That said, in spite of this victory, it was a muted occasion for them- as Microsoft themselves pointed out in a statement they released, PS4 sales slid year on year- the launch of the PS4 Pro, PS4 Slim, and the PlayStation VR was not enough to counter a decline in sales. Meanwhile, for the sum total of the second half of 2016, it appears as though Microsoft managed to outsell PS4 with the Xbox One in the US- presumably on the back of exciting games like Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3, as well as the launch of the excellent Xbox One S.

We’ll get the full NPD report, including software charts, on January 19, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for that.

But hey, the Xbox One was the re-seller for 4 months out of 12 in the US. Or was it 3?

  • Holeybartender

Microsoft wants recognition for half-assing it throughout the year? Go !@#% yourself.

    • crazy_black_man-

Xbox Live engagement is at an all-time high. That can only mean more ad visibility, and resulting ad revenue on their paid online gaming service. Apparently, it was never about the game sales, or console sales for Microsoft. They were in it for the subscribers, and now I wonder how really Kinect fit into all this.

  • Oh, Microsoft. Refuses to comment on sales figures but doesn’t mind jabbing others.

    • Luke Skywalker

sony refuse to comment on usage numbers but doesn’t mind giving out shipped numbers

    • crazy_black_man-

Usage numbers vs shipped numbers? Who the phukk cares about usage numbers???

If you’re ‘shipping’ 50 million consoles, then you’re ‘selling’ 50 million consoles. I could have 10 people in my house ‘using’ a single console, and still have high usage numbers. What kind of low expectations having clown are you? That’s like being stupid ‘on purpose’.

  • Starman

More propaganda (LIES) Sony likes to claim numbers on a technicality (units shipped and sold to retailers, not to consumers) this is the new thing that most IDIOTS , like yourselves on here (Sony fanboys) don’t know(uneducated as usual …. this is why stores now can give whatever price and bundles they want to … Facts . Don’t take my word for it ..research and challenge me.. or STFU… little boys.

    • crazy_black_man-

Here below is the result of my research.

Shipped product is sold product. We both agree on that point. So 54 million shipped is 54 million sold. Agreed.

Now, under the assumption that you just layed out, I now challenge you to explain why retailers want more Sony stock than they want Xbox One stock. Is it because of increased customer demand for Sony’s product vs Microsoft’s product?
And if Sony is shipping more product to retailers than Microsoft, then how does that help your argument at all? Does it not simply mean that Sony has a more desirable product than their competition, and in turn retailers are buying more inventory to keep a hot item in stock, one that is constantly in demand versus the increasingly undesirable Xbox One?

Here, I just posted a picture of you just realizing how stupid you were in your arrogance.

Microsoft Xbox will not release sales figures so if their numbers cannot be backed up officially or by research as you require we will just have assume a sales figure of zero for Xboxone.

Interestingly Microsoft have absolutely no problem with releasing numbers of the (successful) Windows 10 users/install base. So it’s not really an across the board philosophy at MS to not release numbers there seems to be something particular about the Xbox numbers.. but I can’t quite put my finger on it… can you perhaps?
