Stores around North America know what the rush on Black Friday, when sometimes shoppers literally numbering in the thousands, descend upon them to avail of some killer deals, can be like. But now, it appears as though even digital storefronts aren’t safe from the stress- for instance, PSN appears to be having server issues in the wake of the excellent Black Friday game sale that went live earlier today.

Users are reporting that they are getting a maintentance message on the PlayStation Store, with the error code ‘WC-40383-8’. Sony’s technical team has issued a statement, and said that it’s aware of outage issues with the PSN and its engineers are working hard to get things back online. While some users are starting to see services being restored, on the whole, getting online on PSN seems to be a coin flip for now.

We’ll keep you posted on PSN’s status- we know you want to grab some of those excellent games for yourself.

Psnotwork goes down all the time. We all know it wasn’t be because of sales. Last gen it went down for over a month and sony initially denied it was hacked.

That’ll be why XBL’s had more issues this year than PSN. Poor Mikey. 🙂

Where do you get your news info from? The local drug dealer?

PSN doesn’t go down all the time. Xbox Live and PSN have about the same number of outages and down time.

Sony never denied it was hack when PSN went down for a month. They told everyone about the hack as soon as they finished their investigation but they also stated there was no proof that personal info was actually stolen.

Wasn’t Xbox Live taken down for two weeks in 2007 because of hack which Microsoft denied? Wasn’t there a massive surge of Xbox Live accounts stolen from Games for Windows Live?

Microsoft fanboys are the biggest hypocrites and can’t do anything but lie because they have no facts to support their arguments and love for a plastic box that even Microsoft doesn’t truly care about which is why they’re bringing Xbox exclusives to PC.

Xgimps can’t really spin 30 minutes downtime in their favour.

Chief Executive of Yahoo! – Marissa Meyer , is recommending people to start freelancing from home… Something that I have been doing for over 2 years now. My profit, for this year alone is $53k so far and all I needed was nothing more than my laptop and several hrs of free time each week at home working online job over internet company, despite that i have a full-time employment beside it. Great thing is that even newbies, can get $50/hr with no trouble and the earnings can go even higher over time… This is where i started. fv…

“PSN appears to be having server issues in the wake of the excellent Black Friday”… Yes this is
correct BUT also XBL had problems that day too and was also down ye G-Bolt fails to mention that one.

In fact both networks had down times on 27th / 28 / 29th Nov-.
