Double Fine Productions’ Psychonauts 2 has crossed another milestone in its crowd-funding, garnering $3 million thus far. It’s funds currently stand at $3,015,828 from 18,079 backers.
It should be noted that while $1.436 million are from normal pledges, $1.579 million is from investments due to Fig allowing players to invest in the game for a chance to earn some returns on the same.
The crowd-funding campaign began at The Game Awards 2015 when Psychonauts 2 was announced for the very firs time. It currently has a funding goal of $3.3 million and managed to raise its first $1 million in the first day of the campaign. The crowd-funding campaign will end on January 12th 2016.
The overall budget for the game is $10 million with Double Fine investing a large amount of its own money with an external investor also putting in funds. Psychonauts 2 will be releasing in Fall 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. What are your thoughts on the campaign? Let us know in the comments.
