Recore was a bit of a mystery until Microsoft pulled the curtains up at E3 a few days ago. Till now, Microsoft’s been teasing, even cagey about the title. It was from the creator of Megaman, Keiji Inafune, so it’s certainly a pedigree going for it.

However, the Recore gameplay that was recently revealed is (via Gamespot), well, kinda dull, even if it has a form-shifting robot thing. To a large extent, it seems to be not much more than an arcadey, fast-pased third-person shooter, something of an evolution from Mega Man Legends, though with all the accumulated spit and polish you’d expect from the 19 intervening years.

Recore doesn’t even have much of a “J” vibe, lending the environs on display a disappointingly generic feel. It just looks like Yet Another Generic Arcade Shooter Part XVI. However, since it’s early days and going by the fast-paced action, it might be worth picking up just for the fun of twitch-shooting.

Recore is set to launch on September 18th. What’s your  take on the game?
