Resident Evil 6 Meets Left 4 Dead 2 in New Capcom-Valve Crossover Project

Call this the one awesome thing that Resident Evil 6 plays host to, as Capcom and Valve announced an awesome crossover project for the PC version of RE 6 and Left 4 Dead 2 where characters and enemies from each game will appear in the other.

For RE 6 PC, you’ll be able to choose the four survivors from Valve’s game – Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle – in The Mercenaries No Mercy mode. Each carries their own custom load-out, and what’s more, you can look for the Witch and Mini Tank to appear as well. The enemies will affect RE 6 characters as well.

As for L4D2, Valve will be bringing some enemies like the Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman from Capcom’s game into theirs using Steam Workshop tools.

Chet Faliszek from Valve stated that, “We’re huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it.”

Resident Evil 6 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi threw his two cents in, stating “The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we’re confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content.”

The overall content will be available on April 5th for RE 6 PC owners and this Spring for L4D2 gamers. It will be made free and download automatically in the background when you load the game up.
