Capcom’s Resident Evil HD Remaster saw some strong critical acclaim when it released near January end. Interestingly within a few weeks, it became the fastest selling digital title ever. Yes, that’s in all history for both North America and Europe. It also broke day one records on the PlayStation Network.

Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi stated that, “It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have enjoyed this new release. The team here at Capcom Japan have worked hard to bring the game to the latest generation of consoles and we are thrilled at this news on its performance.”

Resident Evil HD Remaster is essentially a re-release of the GameCube remake from 2002 which itself was critically acclaimed. The remake supports 1080p resolutions, a 16:9 aspect ratio, 5.1 Surround Sound and even a brand new control scheme. Have you played it and what are your thoughts on the game thus far?
