Ryse: Son of Rome to Launch Without Online Challenge Editor

Discussions are currently on-going as to when it should be made available.

Ryse: Son of Rome will be missing a key multilpayer feature at launch, according to associate producer Michael Smart. This is the online “Challenge Editor”, which allows players to create their custom playlists of events and maps. Sadly, when speaking to DigitalSpy, Smart stated that it “won’t be available at launch.”

There are plans to add SmartGlass functionality to the mode as well but “right now we’re discussing when that’ll be available.” Given that the Xbox One is launching on November 22nd and Ryse: Son of Rome alongside it, it’s no stretch to believe that it could eventually become available in early 2014.

Ryse: Son of Rome has a decent amount of forward momentum going, despite the mixed reactions of some previews (some claim it’s amazing, while others claim it’s as fun as dialing phone numbers). Will you be picking it up at launch despite the lack of a Challenge Editor? Let us know in the comments below.
