Koch Media has been on a roll since picking up THQ’s franchises back in January when the publisher filed for bankruptcy. It released 4A Games’ Metro: Last Light which was critically and commercially acclaimed, and oversaw development on Deep Silver Volition’s Saints Row IV that has itself been seeing great critical response (check out our glowing review here).

However, what are the company’s plans for the next generation of gaming, arriving with the PS4 and Xbox One? Co-founder of Koch Media and Deep Silver Dr Klemens Kundratitz recently spoke to Games Industry International about the same, stating that, “Deep Silver has never been renowned for jumping on new platforms on day one and I believe this is not what a company of our size and structure should be doing.

“But that doesn’t mean that we are less excited and certainly we’ll also be part of the publishers that invest in this.” So while it may be a while before Saints Row or Dead Island hits the PS4 or Xbox One, but it wouldn’t be too far fetched.

Commenting on Volition’s handling of Saints Row IV, Kundratitz stated that, “We wanted to unlock any potential that was to be unlocked, to take all the brakes off and really give them all the support that they needed to make the game the biggest and most ambitious in the series, which it now is. But we didn’t interfere in the creative positioning of the game.”
