Howard: Skyrim is a “Similar-Tech Game”; Explains About Killing Kids

Posted By | On 31st, Oct. 2011

We have a lot of exciting new information from Skyrim and this time it’s the morality system. Skyrim is quite the complex game you see, while the first impression might not be that impressive, but it does a lot of new things. Tod Howard from Bethesda revealed a lot of things during this interview with Playstation Mag.

First he described about the technology behind the game, “From Fallout 3 to Skyrim we’ve rewritten the majority of the engine. It looks strong, an advancement of tech rather than a do-over.”

It’s still a similar-tech game. It’s just we can do more on screen. We did a lot of procedural stuff in Oblivion. Now none of the landscape is procedural – it’s all created by artists,” he revealed.

The characters look quite good in Skyrim compared to the block lifeless people from Oblivion. He also mentioned that you can’t kill kids here. But there will be repercussions if you do something unlawful near them.

You can’t kill kids, but they’ll react. People are prone to going around murdering people. They’ll go to a house, decide they want it and kill everybody. It makes you feel guilty when the kid reacts to their mother being killed.”

The game is shaping up to be a spectacular. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
