Sony Registers Domains for “Playstation Cloud”, Official Announcement Imminent?

Is Sony finally going to unveil its Cloud Gaming services?

Insanity is afoot just a day before Sony’s Playstation event. In the midst of rumours that the company will announce cloud services for its current – or depending how it goes, next – Playstation console, several domain names have been registered. The kicker? All of them include the words “Playstation Cloud”

The domain names in question, via Who-is, are Playstation-Cloud.org, Playstation-Cloud.com and PS-Cloud.net.

Whether they have significance or not, it sure as hell is conspicuous to see them registered just one day before the event. The listings themselves reflect Sony’s past registrations regarding cloud services and Gaikai – in fact, the current listings cite Gaiaki as the organization in question.

Typical conspiracy theory or the start of something big? We’ll find out when Sony announces it themselves first-hand but this only hypes the event even more. Could a Playstation 4 announcement indeed be imminent? Is that wacky EyePad tablet real? As usual, stay tuned.
