In case there was any doubt as to the size of Insomniac Games’ Spiderman, a PS4 exclusive revealed recently at E3 2016 during Sony’s presser, then here’s some reassurance. In some recent tweets, the developer noted the size of the development team it has working on Spiderman and the engine it will be using.

Regarding whether Insomniac was working on Spiderman everyday or it had other projects in the pipeline, the developer noted, “Yes we have a huge team working on this game full time.”

It also responded on whether Spiderman was using the same engine as Ratchet & Clank and whether upgrades had been made. “We always iterate our engine between games. We don’t have more than one though.”

Spiderman PS4 is apparently the developer’s largest game till date and certainly Marvel’s largest till now. No word yet on the release date or final name so stay tuned for more information in the coming months.

Stop it , stop it …please .. CORRECTION …. that is “Sunset Overdrive’s” engine … Stop with the lies please….

    • MrSec84 .

Sunset Overdrive came out in Fall 2014, Ratchet & Clank was Spring 2016, the engine is Insomniac’s own set of internally developed development tools so this can’t be a lie.

You’re just bitter that this game isn’t coming to XB1, for obvious reasons.

    • Starman

I have both, first of all…… actually all 4 PC, XB!, PS4 and WiiU … I played R&C it was SSOD engine with a few tweeks but very linear compared to SSOD , so STFU , coming from someone who only has one system …

    • MrSec84 .

Rubbish, you’re well known for trolling any PS4 articles, I doubt you own the system.
Also my comment wasn’t making any judgements of Sunset Overdrive in any way.
So what if Ratchet & Clank was linear, it’s still a game that used Insomniac’s in-house engine and commenting on the chronological use of their tech it’s correct to say that Ratchet & Clank was the most recent game that Insomniac developed of the two projects.

Your comment is just petty, needless fanboy trolling.
      As per usual.

Technically the correct thing to say is that Insomniac are using their own engine, it’s neither the Spider Man, Ratchet & Clank or Sunset Overdrive game engine, but rather Insomniac’s multipurpose engine that they tailor to each game they work on.

    • how ya doin?

Actually there were many levels that were wide linear like uncharted 4s wide linearity, idk why that kid is complaining about a game being linear.
