Splinter Cell Conviction will use Ubisoft’s new DRM

Posted By | On 26th, Feb. 2010

It’s been confirmed. The draconian ‘stay online the entire time’ DRM system used in Assassins Creed 2 is making its way into Conviction, as well as several games in the future.

ShackNews confirmed that the DRM will be implemented in Conviction, as well as The Settlers 7, Silent Hunter 5, Ghost Recon and others.

This is incredibly bad news for PC gamers, and in many people’s minds, completely counter-intuitive in combating piracy, as ironically the only people who will avoid the DRM are pirates and hackers.

Is this the future of PC gaming? I sure hope not.
