State of Decay 2 Looks Gorgeously Desolate In New Concept Art

State of Decay 2, which is due to launch on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs this year, has received a brand new bit of concept art (the final one, actually) that showcases just how gorgeous and yet beautiful its world will be.

Speaking on the concept art, Undead Labs’ artist said, “The endless road is a metaphor, promising a new world at the end of the horizon, but of course you never actually get to the end. The road always leads to another road, and there’s no escaping yourself at any point along the journey. You are the monster you fear the most, you are the danger that threatens, and the only ray of hope in all of the endless night to come is that you are also the one in the driver’s seat.

“I’m just messing with y’all, this was us testing out different light levels in order to make the most effective 2016 E3 trailer. We ultimately decided on a little more past sunset than this.”

Good to see they have a sense of humor about how seriously zombie apocalypse games often take themselves. You can check out the concept art above. State of Decay 2 is set to launch later this year.
