Insomniac Games’ Xbox One exclusive platforming shooter, Sunset Overdrive, may not get get any further expansions. The game launched last year, and has since been supported by Insomniac by a variety of post launch content and DLC; a full year of post launch support is probably enough in Insomniac’s reckoning to want to move on.

“We have no plans for any more story DLC,” Insomniac noted on Twitter. “No plans for for a third game add-on,” they said, before explicitly stating, “We have no further DLC planned beyond what is already out there.”

On the whole, I don’t think fans are going to be disappointed- Sunset Overdrive was already an excellent game, and it got loads of equally excellent post launch DLC as well. There is already a whole lot of Sunset Overdrive out there for fans to enjoy- if you have not yet already jumped on the Xbox One exclusive, now would be the time to do so.

There were two big problems for me in this game.

    1) shooting takes a back seat to movement. Its a shame because the weapons available in the game are very interesting.

    2) Maybe i just sucked but it was extremely hard to stay mobile while grinding, jumping, etc the whole time…and when you are on the ground, the game punishes you too much.

It was just way too jarring when everything is flowing nicely grinding, jumping and hovering in the air that when you mess up and land on the ground…the whole flow just conpletely breaks apart and feels like you are in a different game.

I hope there’s a sequel planned that fixes those things….though with the poor sales that it got, i doubt it.

This is one of the best exclusives of this generation so far. It’s truly a phenomenal game.
