The long-awaited sequel has already outpaced Pikmin 3 Deluxe, which sold 2.4 million copies within two years of launching on Nintendo Switch.
Meanwhile, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sits at 32.44 million units sold, while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sits at 31.15 million.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also continues to perform well, selling 31.15 million lifetime units as of September 30th.
Nintendo's hybrid platform continues to sell, with 2.93 million units sold in the three month period ending September 30th.
