Sony have released a new video gives us the first look at what we can expect from the story of the upcoming Tearaway. The story of Tearaway centers around two heroes whose heads are shaped like – believe it or not – message bearing envelopes. The idea is that the have a message trapped inside them that they need to deliver.
The person that they are trying to deliver the message to, in a very meta twist, is actually you, the player. Additionally, the developers talk about the utilization of music as a storytelling tool in Tearaway. As the player progresses through the game, stores are told and retold, each coming out a little bit different every time it’s told. The subtle changes in music reflect these changes to the stories.
As Tearaway is a paper-themed game, with interactive environments that the player can cut and shape to their heart’s content, it only makes senses that the villains of Tearaway, at least initially, are bits of scorned scrap paper.
Tearaway launches on the PS Vita on November 22nd, and is currently available for pre-order.
