The Last of Us: 500 GB PS3 Bundle Listed, Naughty Dog Talks Development Hurdles

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us is one of the most anticipated titles for the Playstation 3 in a while. Naughty Dog knows it, Sony knows it and fans know it. Does it make sense to release a bundle for the game in that light? You bet it does!

Amazon France has recently begun listing a new bundle, which includes a black PS3 with 500 GB along with The Last of Us for release on May 7th 2013 at the price of 299.99 Euros (about $410). Of course, it’s unconfirmed but Amazon France has been right before in regards to the God of War: Ascension PS3 bundle. Considering the game in question here, it only makes sense.

Also, Eurogamer has released pages of The Last of Us artbook, which shows just what kind of creative process Naughty Dog was going through when asked to design the next big franchise for Sony.

The responses of game director Bruce Straley and creative director Neil Druckmann – “Uh, what?” – in the preface of the art book say it all. But honestly, they “had to create something that attempted to match that level of quality [of Uncharted, Jax and Daxter, Crash Bandicoot] – in gameplay, story and art. No pressure right? Where the hell do we even start?

“It took us roughly three and a half years to make The Last of Us, and during that time we got to work with some of the most talented artists in entertainment.”

Check out the art pages for yourself below and see if you agree.
