The Last of Us Remastered has received a new update on PS4 which adds support for high-dynamic range lighting or HDR. Update 1.07 also adds support for the upcoming PS4 Pro. That means that if you pick up Sony’s new console, you can experience the post-apocalyptic action adventure in native 4K (albeit at 30 FPS).

As for the PS4 version, the addition of HDR has apparently led to numerous improvements. Various NeoGAF members reported more visible clouds, thus separating darker areas all the better, and more realistic lighting in some scenes. Colour and shadow quality is also closer to what you’d expect from real life.

Naughty Dog will also be updating Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for PS4 Pro though it will be using a different rendering technique as per earlier reports. Given how The Last of Us Remastered is looking, we can’t wait to see what the developer has in store. Stay tuned for more information as it comes.
