The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has some traditional dungeons, but the bulk of your puzzle solving will occur in Shrines. Shrines are like mini dungeons – think of them as the equivalent of 2-3 dungeon rooms in previous Zelda games – and you get the idea of what to expect. Some of the cleverest puzzles in the series’ history are to be found in these Shrines.
But they don’t just have to be solved for the satisfaction of puzzle solving- clearing a Shrine gives you a Spirit Orb, and you can exchange four of these in return for an increase in your health, or your stamina. Shrines, then, are your way to ‘level up’- without doing these Shrines, you’ll find yourself severely underpowered.
Sometimes, simply getting to the Shrines can be difficult. There are 120 Shrines in Breath of the Wild, and most of them can be and are daunting challenges. In this guide, we walk you through them.
Sometimes in Breath of the Wild, you will find dragons in the distance- these dragons can lead to some very special moments in the game. In this section of the guide, we tell you where to find them.
