After insiders reported that Ready at Dawn’s PS4 exclusive was delayed into February 2015, studio head Ru Weerasuriya confirmed at a pre-E3 Sony event that The Order: 1886 would indeed be delayed to from Holiday 2014 to early 2015.

As Weerasuriya told Eurogamer, “We have an open discussion with Sony all the time. We said, ‘Look, we can achieve the quality you expect everywhere, but delivering on this is going to take a few more months. It’s not that long. It’s worth it if we can deliver on the promise we made. We’ve known Sony for long enough that there is a very easy conversation that goes on.”

The delay is certainly interesting considering that the only exclusive Sony has for the all-important year-end quarter is DriveClub. E3 seems like the best place to reveal more titles though so we’ll see. Nonetheless, how do you feel about The Order: 1886 being delayed? Let us know in the comments.

    Downgrading takes time it seems.

downgrading from what footage shown? you suck at trolling

      It was not downgraded.

“Can’t compare a ruined image to full res. Level of detail has not changed, if anything, it is up.”
“Oh, and the frame rate is actually VERY nice, do not blame us for streaming issues please”
“The assets are the same or better – you just need a better video.”

There was no downgrade. It’s absurd to think that a few extra polygons making up clothing decorations is some kind of “downgrade” instead of a costume switch, when almost every other visual effect has been upgraded.

      1. The textures are not less crisp. What you’re probably seeing is just a product of more post processing, volumetrics and slightly increased depth of field.

You get a better look at the textures in this shot, where you can even make out the material properties of his jacket.

      2. Skin shaders have been improved if anything. The eyes certainly have.

      3. The lighting, again, has been improved. And now there’s self shadowing too. There’s improved lighting and shadows, especially noticeable on and behind the woman.

There’s also other additions. Higher quality depth of field (see the wooden plank through the door in the background), added per object motion blur, and what looks to be added flare coming off of strong reflections on certain materials. They added some more advanced colour grading, depth of field and post processing.

The lighting is clearly improved. The sub-surface scattering argument is absurd, as the character’s skin looks more realistic than before.

Texture detail lowered on costumes. LOD hiding fog. Screen Tear. 800P.

Downgrade confirmed. Probably why you shouldn’t show demos on high powered PC’s :^)

IT WAS NOT DOWNGRADED YOU ARE WRONG AND EVIL

WRONG, IT IS A COSTUME CHANGE

WRONG, SCREEN TEARING IS FROM THE VIDEO CAPTURE

WRONG, IT IS RUNNING ON A PS4 DEVKIT

      Clothing textures downgraded

DOF hiding fog and less draw distance than original videos

Deflecting and screaming that Screen Tearing is from video capture when it can only be sourced from the output

Shilling again, Derp. But then showing it running on a PC then running on a PS4 is a downgrade in of itself.

PC is the master race :^)

damn the thirst continues for Delaystation 4

    • ps4lol

PS4 has the superior version of all console AAA multiplats, more dev support including indies, a large number of first party studios, free to play games and MMOs like FFXIV and Warframe, and unannounced 1st party games (Gran Turismo, God of War, Media Molecule, Quantic Dream, etc.) Titanfall 2 and future 3rd party games will almost certainly be on PS4.

PS4 games not on Xbox One: Killzone, inFamous Second Son, Dynasty Warriors 8, Final Fantasy XIV, Warframe, DC Universe, Yakuza Isshin and other Japanese games, MLB 14 The Show, Bound by Flame, Injustice Gods Among Us, Knack, Natural Doctrine, Transistor, Uncharted, Planetside 2, Dragon Ball Z, MotoGP, Deep Down, Driveclub, The Last of Us, The Witness, The Order, and a ton of indies including Resogun, Rime, Transistor, etc.

Recently Sony has filed trademarks or had leaks for no less than 6 games. Entwined, Kill Strain, Blood Borne, Dark Chronicles, Project Beast and Guns Up. Expect a big E3 reveal of new games.

Don’t worry PS4 will keep selling like hotcakes based on superior multiplats alone, and bundles with Destiny and Watch Dogs.

    • You_Are_Flat_Out_Peasant

Thanks for listing all those superior PC versions there derp. Like the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV that runs at 1080P 60FPS and further instead of 30FPS like Digital Foundry said.

PC truly is the master race :^)

    • ps4lol

My PC is better than yours, I know more about tech than you, you’re a disgraceful, wrong, and ignorant shill.

    • You_Are_Flat_Out_Peasant

No its not. No one with a better PC would be defending the potatostation 4.

      PC is the master race

    Not downgraded.
