Adding on to the issues that CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is facing, a number of Reddit and official forum users have revealed that some save progress can be lost if entering into standby mode on the Xbox One when the game is still running.

The problem doesn’t seem to be completely fixed though – for some players who resume the game upon switching their console back on, the message, “You cannot save right now” appears while others are stuck in loading screens. Restarting the game causes hours of save progress to be lost. Right now, the only possible fix seems to be deleting local save files if progress has been lost and finding backup files via the cloud. Starting the game after deleting the corrupted local saves should also load up your last most recent save.

CD Projekt RED hasn’t commented on the issue but a fix will likely be announced soon. For now, simply quit the game and shut off your console to ensure your saves aren’t ruined.
