This Indie Mech Game Will Blow Your Mind

Adhesive Games is working on a brand new Mech Combat FPS named Hawken. Hopefully after watching this clip all those dead mech fans will be back to life.

All clips in this video were captured from actual network game matches. The third person shots are from a spectator camera, gameplay is first person. Adhesive Games will releases another gameplay trailer soon. In the mean while check this video:

This better have destructible environment and limb destruction on your mech otherwise what’s the point of having Mechs? This is by far one of the best graphics i’ve seen so I sure hope the gameplay will be as beautiful..

This is the sort of posts I would like to continue to see from this site. Typically when I view posts here it is always just another recap of popular AAA titles for a particular genre or platform.

    It’s just a 3PS in mech-game clothing. Pretty though.

That’s the kind of talk that took something away from Killzone.

Did anyone else think ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ while watching that? I’m with Neuromancer93, if there’s no destructible goodness with both the environments and the mechs then it’s not really a step forward.

there is a problem with having both 3rd and 1st person that has been the case in numerous vehicle combat games.

namely that 3rd person allows you to see things that a 1st person player would not. Such as over obstacles or around corners, giving unfair advantage. In some extreme cases, this even lead to being able to get missile locks from behind obstacles without exposing one’s mech

If you read it at the end, it says that it’s a FPS. Even throughout the video the 3P views never looked like they were being used to control the robots.

why do ppl think anyone is amazed at cgi? PUT GAMEPLAY OR GTFO!
