THQ have confirmed that thier UK based studio, who just released XBLA shooter Warhammer 40K: Kill Team, have been closed.

A spokesperson for the publisher confirmed that, after a closure consultancy period, THQ have decided to shut the studio down.

Close to 36 staff will be made redundant effective immediately, with a team of ten left on to see Kill Team release on the PlayStation Network.

Despite this let down, three start up studios have been announced.

One is D3T, a three man team led by Jamie Campbell and Stephen Powell. Another will be established by Don Whiteford and Ric Badger, but won’t be named or made official until Kill Team gets a PSN release.
