Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark Officially Announced

Roll out, once more.

After a listing on Amazon, Activision and High Moon Studios have announced the third game in their Transformers series with Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark. It follows War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, and will release for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, 3DS, PS3 and PS4.

Mark Blecher, Senior VP Digital Gaming & Corporate Development at Hasbro stated that, “Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is an arc between the Cybertron and Earth based worlds of this popular franchise. This year marks 30 incredible years of Transformers. This game tells another chapter in the Transformers story that all fans will love.”

You’ll be playing as both Autobots and Decepticons again, with more than 40 characters involved, as both factions aim to either protect or destroy Earth from the might of the Dark Spark. It’s not completely clear whether you’ll have the chance to switch between both factions during the game or whether the chapters for various factions will be interspersed throughout like in Fall of Cybertron.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark releases this June.
