Konami’s Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner will be receiving a remastered release on the PlayStation 4. The announcement was made during Sony’s Tokyo Game Show presser with the PS4 version being called Anubis: Zone of the Enders – Mars.

Along with improved graphics like support for 4K resolution and better textures, the game will also have support for PlayStation VR. You can check out the reveal trailer below.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner was included with the first game in Zone of the Enders HD Collection for the PlayStation 3 in 2012. Though a third game was supposed to happen, disappointing sales of the HD Collection put a damper on that.

Hideo Kojima, who was producer on both games, also left Konami. Perhaps this PS4 remaster is an indication of the company wanting to revisit the franchise? Anubis: Zone of the Enders – Mars will be out in 2018 for PS4. A Western release date hasn’t been confirmed.
