I bought a PS3 at launch and its fully backward compatible with my entire ps1 and ps2 collection and is still working nearly 8 years later. No regrets.

Who sticks with one platform? I owned a genesis and a super NES, N64 and Playstation, and so on. Why limit yourself? Buy em used after a year or two.

In reply to NWP. Not all fatty PS3s, no - but the earliest models did. I got a 60gb model. From what my research tells me, the last model to include PS2 BC was the 80GB model that came bundled with MGS4.

I do not regret the purchase of my 3DO. I still enjoy the titles which were only on that system. After all, what was I going to do in 1995, wait for the next Nintendo? Or buy a PS1 for $400 with a very limited library?

This happened to me when I pre-ordered the Star Wars 360. I paid $450 plus tax for the privilege of getting one only to see the price drop $50 not even a month after it came out an MS was to cheap to even offer a gift card to cushion the blow. Never again!

My regret is wasting my time reading this article. If you regret these things, you have too much time. If you can’t be asked to play a game twice, don’t get it. I’m a ‘button happy’ gamer (in the loosest respect of the term ‘gamer’) and I have never ended a game. I am now going to wrap my girlfriend’s Xmas Presents as the last on has finally arrived.

In reply to Arthur Sataine. I think he was just making points using those examples. Maybe you got this but would have rather had this. There's a good slate of hardware mentioned. I think he was just trying to avoid a fanboy war.

I have the fatty PS3, then about a week after I bought it, it went down $100, which kinda pissed me off, then after 3 years, I got the YLOD. But my biggest regret so far, was buying the BF4 for the PS3, definitely isn’t worth the money, but that’s just my point of view.
