13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Gets Western Release, Out on September 8th

The side-scrolling RPG/real-time strategy mech title is finally coming to PS4 in the West.

As many suspected, Vanillaware has announced a Western release for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. It’s out on September 8th for the PS4 in North America and Europe. You can check out the latest trailer below which highlights the 13 different characters and their various conflicts.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim sees different high-school students in the 1980s who are suddenly involved in a doomsday scenario. Using mechs called Sentinels, the player must battle against various kaiju. After customizing each mech, you’ll battle them with up to six characters in real-time strategy combat.

Outside of combat, the game is a side-scrolling role-playing game driven by choice and interaction. It’ll be worth seeing how the cast’s stories intersect and intertwine. Though 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is being localized in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish, it will only have Japanese voice-acting at launch. This is due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting production. A patch with English voice-overs will arrive post-launch.
