We know that Nintendo has to be planning a Direct or an event soon- they have to be, because they have nothing announced for 2018, and it is clear they are planning on maintaining and accelerating the Switch’s momentum, which means they do have things waiting in the wings. Plus, we have had leaks pointing to a Nintendo Direct in January.
Now, Amazon has gone ahead and listed 18 unannounced Switch games, all with the box art stating that they were “announced at the Switch event”. Interestingly enough, they also seem to have highly specific pricing tiers- 15 games are $60, while three are higher priced, indicating that those three might be Special Editions or Limited Editions.
What could these 15 games be? The interesting thing to note here is that these can’t be referring to Switch games that have already been announced- things like Metroid Prime 4, Dragon Quest Builders, Bayonetta, Yoshi, Kirby, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Octopath, and Wolfenstein all have store pages already. No, whatever these games are, they are completely new- and all full priced.
Hopefully that Direct happens sooner rather than later, so we know once and for all what Nintendo’s plan for 2018 is.
