I am hardly claiming ownership of fanboyism, and I would argue that you would be hard pressed to argue that I am acting like one.
She wasn’t, nor was I, arguing that the xbox doesn’t need or want more exclusives, or that “all third party games across all platforms are AAA.” She was merely pointing out that the vast majority of AAA games are in fact multiplats and are, by definition, available on Xbox. Doing so, in this instance, shows at least some level of setting aside the fanboyism. That is all I was calling attention to and applauding. Being that that is what I initially stated, I would hope that one could deduce that it is what, and only what, I was applauding.
All this anger directed at anyone who dares even comment differently on sites like this is what give all of us gamers a bad rap. I was merely trying to, in my small way, cut through the puerile tribalism on display in all the comments on this site. Yes, we as customers have a say in what we want to buy and consume, couldn’t agree more. But all the anger directed at other gamers and tribalism accomplishes nothing but giving said companies money absent of criticism just to maintain ‘tribal’ affiliation.

Actually, I did read the title, and the whole article. I have no problem with exclusives and competition between console makers, I encourage it because competition makes everyone do better. What I do find childish is fanboyism in which people feel the need to take sides and that their side can do no wrong and the other side can do no right. Aanea was pointing that your claim of “big AAA games being almost non-existent” is incorrect because the vast majority of the ‘big AAA games” are multiplats. Yes, the exclusive line-up on the xbox side doesn’t have the same shear number that it does on PS4. Yes, Microsoft can do more in that area. But to claim that games are non-existent is absurd. Further, if I were being the fanboy that you were accusing me of, I wouldn’t have applauded Aanea to begin with since, from an analysis of her posts on this site in general, she seems to prefer the PS4 and I happen to own an Xbox. If I were acting a fanboy, shouldn’t I be seething with hate and loathing?

Because as it sits in my mind is that ME has a real serious issue in their hands when it comes to some really groundbreaking software to make use of their newest hardware.
