Nintendo has just announced their financial results for the first fiscal quarter of this year, which ended on June 30. Along with various other details, we also got to learn about sales of Nintendo hardware, including about Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS shipments.
The lifetime sales for the Nintendo 3DS have now reached 72.89 million, which is certainly impressive, and total software sold is at 367.84 million units worldwide. As for the Wii U, total hardware sales are at 13.56 million units, and software sales are at 102.28 million units. The Nintendo Switch has sold a total of 19.67 million units of hardware and 86.93 million units of software as of June 31 of this year. This means that a total of 1.88 million units of Switch were sold during this quarter. This makes the total sales of the Switch during this period less than that of the PS4, which sold 3.2 million units during this quarter.
With a strong lineup of games for the coming year, it looks like the Nintendo Switch will sell very well throughout this year.
