It seems there’s a game based on the popular Alien film series inbound. 20th Century Fox has just registered a trademark on the name, Alien: Isolation, under the category of computer and video game software.
The full trademark covers a range of uses of the intellectual property, including downloadable ring tones, graphics, computer desktop wallpapers, screen saver software, mouse pads, decorative magnets, eye glasses, downloadable mobile applications, and other multimedia content.
Phewf. That’s quite the laundry list of items. And that’s not even the full list of covered items. It seems that 20th Centure Fox has some big plans for the Alien IP. And Alien and video games actually have a little-known history dating all the way back to the 1980’s.
In 1982 Alien was released on the Atari 2600, and was developed and published by Fox Video Games. Back then half the things under this trademark didn’t even exist. I have high hopes for what Fox will do with the awesome Alien concept.
